Michelle Reid graduated from Georgetown University in Washington DC in 2013 with her masters degree in science and nursing. Michelle began her nursing career as a licensed practical nurse in 1995. She graduated from Indian River State College with her associates degree in nursing in 2003 then returned to IRSC for her bachelors degree in 2011. She has over 22 years experience in the field of nursing. Michelle expanded her experience by working in various settings including long-term care, wound care, home health, pre/post operative units, cardiac units, and the intensive care units prior to receiving her masters degree.
Michelle is certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and she is also certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She is a member of the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Caribbean Nurses Association of the Treasure Coast, and a former member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
Prior starting Patient’s Choice Primary Care with her partners she practiced as a hospitalist nurse practitioner in a local hospital and a family nurse practitioner in an outpatient clinic.
Michelle has called Port Saint Lucie home since 1989. She participates in community health fairs. She is passionate about empowering her patients through education. Michelle believes in forming a partnership with her patients to assist them to achieving better health. Her other interest includes holistic and natural medicine, animal rights, Reiki, and meditation
